Act Now: Preserve Canada's Democratic Integrity

Fellow Canadians,

Our democracy stands at a pivotal crossroads. The upcoming federal election offers a crucial opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to transparent and accountable governance. Historically, Canada has upheld the integrity of its electoral process through the use of hand-counted paper ballots, a practice that ensures transparency and public trust. Elections Canada has consistently maintained this approach, stating that ballots are counted manually in the presence of candidates' representatives or other designated observers. Elections Canada

However, there is a growing discourse around the potential adoption of electronic voting systems in future elections. While some municipalities and provinces have experimented with electronic voting methods, the federal system has remained steadfast in its manual counting procedures. The introduction of electronic voting systems, such as those provided by companies like Dominion Voting Systems, has been a topic of discussion, but as of now, these systems are not utilized in federal elections.

The urgency to act cannot be overstated. This election may be our last opportunity to ensure that our votes are cast and counted in a manner that upholds the transparency and trustworthiness of our democratic process. By electing independent candidates who are committed to preserving these principles, we can send a clear message.

Revitalizing our democracy requires a multifaceted approach that empowers citizens, enhances transparency, and ensures that elected officials truly represent their constituents. Here are ten actionable steps to get our democracy back on track:

Elect Independent Candidates:

Rationale: Independent candidates are not bound by party lines, allowing them to prioritize the interests of their constituents over party agendas.

Action: Support and vote for qualified independent candidates in local and national elections.

Defeat: Carney and Poilievre in their respective ridings. Assist Vee Gandhi to defeat Carney in Nepean riding and seek and independent candidate for Carleton to defeat Poilierve. Not had to take 2 ridings if we work together. 2 ridings will not take the election but it will put a big dint in the globalists plan to defeat their golden boys.

Reform Party Whip Systems:

Rationale: The current party whip system enforces strict party discipline, limiting individual MPs' ability to vote according to their constituents' wishes.

Action: Advocate for reforms that reduce the power of party whips, allowing for more free votes in parliament.

Implement Proportional Representation:

Rationale: Our first-past-the-post electoral system often leads to disproportionate representation. Proportional representation ensures that the percentage of votes translates more accurately into parliamentary seats.

Action: Support initiatives and referendums that promote electoral reform towards proportional representation.

Enhance Civic Education:

Rationale: An informed electorate is crucial for a functioning democracy. Understanding the political system empowers citizens to make educated decisions.

Action: Promote and participate in civic education programs that explain governmental structures, electoral processes, and citizen rights.

Increase Transparency in Campaign Financing:

Rationale: Opaque campaign financing can lead to undue influence by special interest groups. Transparency ensures accountability.

Action: Advocate for stricter disclosure laws for political donations and spending.

Encourage Grassroots Political Participation:

Rationale: Grassroots movements ensure that political initiatives originate from the populace, reflecting genuine public interest.

Action: Get involved in local community organizations and support grassroots campaigns.

Strengthen Media Literacy:

Rationale: In the age of misinformation, the ability to critically evaluate news sources is essential.

Action: Participate in and promote media literacy workshops and educational programs.

Protect Whistleblower Rights:

Rationale: Whistleblowers play a vital role in exposing corruption and malpractice. Protecting them encourages transparency.

Action: Support legislation that safeguards whistleblowers from retaliation.

Facilitate Direct Democracy Mechanisms:

Rationale: Tools like referendums and citizen initiatives allow the public to directly influence legislation.

Action: Advocate for the implementation of mechanisms that enable direct public participation in decision-making processes.

Promote Open Government Initiatives:

Rationale: An open government fosters trust and allows citizens to hold officials accountable.

Action: Encourage the adoption of open data policies and platforms that make governmental information accessible to the public.

By actively engaging in these steps, we can work towards a more transparent, accountable, and representative democracy.
